How do stress and anxiety affect
the pregnancy journey
An expectant mother may already be experiencing stress and anxiety from events in her home or work life which are then compounded due to hormonal influences in pregnancy.
Many studies and research have shown the impact of stress and poor mental health can have negative effects not only on the mother but also on the growing baby.
Exploring these issues and effects allows us to work holistically with the mother and her family unit utilizing complementary therapies (aromatherapy) and relaxation techniques alongside conventional care. This has been shown to enable the mother to gain back control and empower her to embrace the experience positively. It also gives caregivers, birthing partners, and many others the tools to be able to work in conjunction with the woman to achieve encouraging outcomes.
